Discipline is walking back to lock your phone in the car

In my current two phone experiment, my secondary phone number is attached to my flip phone and I have a smartphone with my main phone number for everything else: Spotify, Maps, Internet, banking, etc.

I keep intending to leave the smartphone and AirPods in my car when I go into work so I don't get distracted. But this morning, while driving to work I listened to a fascinating interview, and I kept listening on the way to the office...getting out of my car, walking into the office, getting coffee, and continuing to listen while I started reading news about the political mess unfolding in our country. Doom-scroll mode activated!

Finally I noticed: 9:05 AM. I haven't planned my day, haven't time blocked, haven't gotten any work done.

So I walked back to the car, put the iPhone and AirPods in the glove box, locked it, and went back to work.
